aplacetostand
Hey all, So I have an old Gibson from what I believe is the LG series (most likely 0), but I'm wondering if some could confirm this for me and maybe help me figure out what year it is. It has 835599 imprinted on the back of the headstock, and 48003 stamped on the inside of the top near the soundhole. I'm not too good at wood identification, but it looks like mahogany back and sides, 3 piece mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, possibly a rosewood bridge with adjustable rosewood saddle, and I think a spruce top (considerably lighter than the back and sides). I thought the lg0s came with a mahogany top so it's got me confused, and I haven't seen a skinny headstock on a lg0 before (although I'm experienced with older Gibsons). Could it be an LG1/2, or a B25(which is what the previous owner said they though it was). I'm sure you guys get identification questions all the time here, but I would really appreciate any help. Pictures were too big to upload, so here's a link to them: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v242/skateboarderth/Gibson%20LG/ Thanks so much! aplacetostand
Well I discovered it's a B 15 and I'm gonna submit the serial to Gibson customer service to help me date it.
