kubog
Hello there guys. I need an advice I have a Gibson R7 and it has kluson style tuners, and I´d like rotomatics beacuse I love that style of peg. Can you guys help me out which company makes these in measures so I don´t have to drill bigger holes in my beloved guitar? I´ve tried grover rotomatics which I have on second guitar and it doesn´t fit . Thank you very much
myspace.com/jessenoah
what about the mini-grovers? will they fit?
bobv
Mini Grovers have smaller bodies on the back and smaller buttons, but still need the same large hole for the bolt-bushings.
:oilpit:
I really want grovers on my standard, I don't think that there is a solution besides drilling. Drill baby drill!!!!
sunburstfaded
Will the locking Grovers fitted to the new 08 Standards fit earlier Les Pauls and are they available to buy without a guitar attached?
kubog
Well I see other people want to change the tuners aswell. Anyone with help please? Drilling is really the last option. Thank you

bobv
Actually, if you decide to modify the headstock to accept new tuners, a drill is the last thing you shoud use because it can catch and ruin the finish or worse. The proper tools for enlarging an existing hole would be a round file, as jesse suggested, or a tapered reamer. If someone has a gun to your head and says to use a drill, then use a sharp bit (assuming you have a bit large enough, you need a good 1/2" machinist's index with sizes in increments of 1/64" in the neighborhood of 3/8") okay if you reallly have to, then try running the drill bit backwards so it scratches the finish instead of hogging out huge chips. But please don't use a drill if you don't have to. I like Grovers, too. But you do know that Grover did manufacture some of the keystone tuners that Gibson has used from time to time?
