MissouriPicker
Met Johnny Cash, back in the mid-80's. My first thought was "Damn, he's a big guy." Very laid-back, friendly, gracious. Had a beer with Bobby Shane and banjo picker George Grove of The Kingston Trio around 2003 or so. They were performing in Kansas City and after a show in the Amistar Casino they invited folks to join them in the bar. Got to talk with Shane alot that night. Shane told us he was ready to retire, and he did. Another decent guy. Grove was real nice too. I forget who was the 3rd guy with them at that time, but he was at another table with some folks. Funny story------some twenty years ago, my parents met Willie Nelson in Vegas. My mom never liked him. In fact, couldn't stand his singing. Anyway, one morning around 630 they head to the elevator at Caeser's Palace to go down to breakfast. There in the elevator is Willie. My mom still tells this story. Says he was the friendliest person and talked and smiled and gave her a big hug. Then when they got down to the buffet, Willie left to join his friends at a big table. The line for the buffet was real long and my folks are standing there when Willie comes through the crowd and tells them to come join him. They get to this big table and Willie introduces them to his wife, June Carter Cash (Cash was still sleeping), Jessie Colter (Waylon came down a while later), and some of the band for The Highwaymen. My mother has never forgotten the event and she has several of Willie's CDs. My dad says she only plays them once-in-a-while, but that she'll argue with anyone who say they don't like Willie. Looks cool and you obviously enjoyed it. How much does a shot up storm troopers helmet come in at? I could go for one of those.

Duende
depending on how loaded he is in the picture, that could range between being a very bad to a quite good thing! I actually bought a t -shirt at the exhibition with Charlie's quote quote "I'm not bi polar...I'm bi winning" The interview that quote is from is unbelievable - he is absolutely bizarre, hilarious and I know he supposedly passed the drugs test for this show! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5aSa4tmVNM

BobB
I had the great fortune to meet Eric Clapton in the early '80's while he was doing his Blues tour. He stayed at the hotel I was working at and I got to show him and his road manager up to the penthouse suites. I was talking to the road manager while Eric got settled into the adjacent suite. As I was turning to leave, I noticed the adjoining door to Eric's suite was open and as I walked passed, a fishing line came flying passed my face. I looked over to see Eric with fishing pole in hand and a big grin on his face. He was practicing his casting and almost reeled me in. I found him to be a very friendly person. Bob Marsh
I've met John Hiatt, The boys from Bon Jovi and Cinderella ( Who were playing a double bill in Greensboro many years ago), Richie Havens and I once had a beer with Nature Boy Rick Flair in an airport bar in Charlotte between planes. The high point though was in Kauai in 1998 - We were at our favorite restaurant the "Hanalei Dolphin" and were seated in the bar to await our table - Seated next to us was Mr. and Missus Graham Nash who live on that lush island - Dottie told him how much we enjoyed all of his music and we talked over MaiTais until our table became available - Nicest fella you'd ever want to meet, and his wife was quite lovely! Searcy
Let's see. Ozzy, Robbin Crosby(of RATT), Michael Schenker and his singer at the time Robbin McAually, Jeff Pilson, Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Eddie Vedder, Mike Watt, Seymour Duncan, James Burton, Kenny Chesney. There are some others I guess that most of you wouldn't know. Of all of the the coolest rock star I ever met was Mike Watt. Just a regular guy if ever there was one. We talked about basses for an hour.

GREAT sotry! We used to have a factory in Hilsboro, TX, (maybe 30 miles north of Waco). Willie lived somewhere close, and every single business had a signed photo of Willie hanging on the wall. I never saw him there, but did see him in concert at The Circle Star Theater, on my birthday in 1977, (August 18). My son was born on May 18, 1978! So every time we want to gross him out his mother and I tell him about what a great time we had at the Willie Nelson concert!
djroge1
Wow!! What did you ask him Danny? Matt I think I asked him where did he get that T-shirt??? No honestly I don't remember everything right now... I was almost speechless. The thing is he gave a private interview to about 50 of us right after the sound check and before the show so he covered a LOT of stuff that one might have asked. He talked about how he got his current ES-335 he was using for the show. He talked about his Bludo Tone amps and why he switched from Dumbles to to them at least while on the road. Back to your original question. I asked him about his next video teaching project. I told him that I have the 335 Blues DVDs. He told me about what was about to come out - 335 Improv.
