onewilyfool
Just tried some cleartone guitar strings. They are coated, but feel like regular strings (sorry elixir!!) They sound good, don't fray, and play like regular strings.....might be worth a try on your guitar...keep pluking guys and gals!!!
Guest NattyBumppo
Have never tried them myself, though I do know they are pricey. I've tried 6-7 different strings over the last year or so and I keep going back to plain ol' D'Addario EJ17s. I actually slightly prefer DR Rare PBs over the D'Addarios but not by much and since my favorite local shop always seems to be out of the DRs, D'Addarios and up getting the nod most of the time. Curious....how would you compare the Cleartones to EXPs?
EddieDean
I tried a set of the Cleartones about a year and a half ago, when I really, really didn't know anything,(as opposed to now, when I don't know anything)....but the way I remember it, I couldn't even tell they were coated, as opposed the the Elixirs I had tried. I believe Cleartone coats the plain strings also, not just the wound strings. I'll have to make a point to try them again, to see how I like 'm now.
