MissouriPicker
This is an old classic that I enjoy playing. Great for fingerpicking. So many great songs made-up from 3-4 chords. Simple stuff, so it works for me...lol http://www.youtube.com/user/TheMissouripicker?feature=mhee
RASHARU
Really nice! I understand the name "MissouriPicker" now. I'm a 95% fingerpicker myself.
Duende
Lovely playing and singing MP! They would love you where Suzie and I live!! Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday (walking distance away) is a 16th century pub that has folk and acoustic nights, a mile and a half to the right of our house, is the Beaverwood club which has jazz and blues every week - and then every Friday at the local liberal club is Friday folk where me and Suzie first met in 13 years ago. In addition to that, we run a monthly guitar society at the local conservative club!!!! We'd love to have you play if you're ever in London :) :) Matt
Duende
P.S Is it the same in other parts of the world that folk clubs seem to attract alot of beards and a general membership of unusual and eccentric characters :) LOL Matt

LOL Three is a great local band fronted by a lovely lady called Sue. Her singing has always raised a few eyebrows (because it is always off key); anyway a good sport ,she formed her folk band a few years back called 'Tone Deaf Lepard" You have to experience them live to enjoy the madness, Nick, do you know this picker? His name is 'The amazing Mr Smith'. He is a comedian and also singer song writer. Suzie and I had him along to our venue a year or so back. He was hilarious and acted the real clown on stage, but boy could he play! I found this for you to enjoy Here is his famous 'backing group'

Tarrr
That was great MP.... I was driving down the road the first time I heard Willie's version. Stopped my the record shop on the way home. His most simple lead on 'trigger' at the break is one of the best ever, so perfect.
struma6
Sounds good MP! Is that an old school elastic strap capo yer using? Brings back mem-o'-rees!
AnneS
Sounds good MP! Is that an old school elastic strap capo yer using? Brings back mem-o'-rees! I agree--nice job!! Seeing that ol' capo gave me a memory jolt, too--only thing that predates it is the use of a rubber band and pencil. Which worked pretty good, too. MissouriPicker
Thanks for the kind words again. You folks are "gluttons for punishment."........Speaking of Mr. Smith: I think he's pretty-damned good. Very entertaining and he knows how to get a laugh. Combine that with some real instrument skills and you've got a top-shelf performer...and that is what he is. On the old elastic capos-----when Musicians Friend closed their retail outlet a few years ago, I bought twenty of them for a quarter each. Kept several and gave the rest to friends. I always keep one in each guitar case as a backup.
struma6
Nice score!! Two bits is a safe investment, eh? lol I used the pencil/rubber band trick for a couple of years. Any port in a storm!

MissouriPicker
Thanks, Matt.........to be honest about it, I'd like to hear you and some of the other truly good pickers in here do a rendition of it. It certainly wouldn't offend me...lol...In fact, I might pick-up a lick or two. I also play it with all barre chords, because I like the sliding back and forth. Duende
We all add our own little personal touches to songs.. Lots of different techniques in this forum. Absolutely! I think of the X Men, i.e they all have one thing in particular that they specialise in - and it is what makes them who they are! As you may have noticed, I enjoy talking about gear, but I enjoy talking about/listening to music much more Matt
