Any St. Louis Jazz Fans?

Recommended Posts

In my continuing effort to entice our St. Louis members out of the house, I'll be playing with the big band Wednesday evening at the Black Cat Theatre in Maplewood, Missouri.

In addition to our regular assortment of big band instrumental charts, we will also be featuring our two vocalists (male and female), and a guest appearance by nationally renowned jazz/fusion violinist Christian Howes.

I'm excited about this program for it has five guitar features, and I'll be playing the L-5, ES-345 and classical guitars, and for one song I'll even be joining the percussion section for some cowbell work.

Come on out and support the arts, a fellow forum member, and have some fun.

Break a leg, Larry...

Wish I could be there.

My next one is a benefit with about 50 kids to raise cash for the city's after-school program for elementary school age youngsters. It's Oct. 20 and so far, no rehearsals and I don't know what they've been teaching the kids for music.

A lot easier than your gig with playing off the map, though. Although keeping the kids together on stage... ever tried herding cats?

<grin>

Wish I could go Larry, but I'm flying to Toronto tomorrow morning for a 3-day business trip.

This made me think of a story my Dad's secretary told me at his funeral. She said "you probably didn't know this, but your father had me schedule his business trips around your hockey and baseball games."

What a Dad!

LOL, Wish I could get out of this one. I hate international travel. My seventh trip to Canada in less than a year.
