Tim Plains
Fellas, I plan on taking a good ol' fashion road trip to Nashville around the holidays. Can you guys tell me what guitar prices are like down there right now and if they're going up or down. I'm probably looking at a Gibson reissue LP or reissue SG...maybe a PRS SC245 or 513. Much appreciated!

Maybe stop by Robert's Western Wear and get some boots first... I can see this happening
ChanMan
They all just went up Tim. Most folks here price match, so it's whatever you can find at MF/GC/SA.
MikeRom
If you're also planning a factory tour they do close for the holidays so you might want to check their schedule.

Tim Plains
surfpup, why else would I go? To buy a Telecaster and slap on some spurs! Honestly, I don't like country music one bit, but I know I'll enjoy the atmosphere and all the live shows. guitarslinger, would be nice to see...but that's not the reason I'm going down. ChanMan, since you're in the area I'll ask...how's the used market doing? Do you follow it at all? I'm only guessing that used LPs and SGs in the Southern States (southern to me) could be had relatively cheap right now with all that's going on in the economy. Used prices up here are definitely not cheap at the moment. Gibson Showcase, eh?

It's at Opry Mills Mall, near the Opry house. You'll probably want to go by Gruhn's too.... I honestly haven't been checking out the used guitars (amps, yes...), but will gladly go take a look-see at what's out there!
Murph
Tim, I'm a few hours away but Nashville is a fun town. Like Chan Man said the Gibson Showcase is a must. Guitars, amps, accessories, T shirts, ect. Gruhns is on 3rd or 4th and Broadway, a must see as well. Printers Alley usually has some non country bands, if you don't like country. As weird as that is! You probably wouldn't like the Country Music Hall Of fame, which is a short walk from Gruhns. 3 stories of some of the coolest guitars on the planet that belonged to Chet, Elvis, Charlie Daniels, Dickie Betts, Bocephus, on and on and Elvis's Cadillac. Charlie Daniels has a pretty cool little museum on 2nd Ave. with some Skynyrd stuff, of course, that's sorta Country too, eh? Best of luck. Murph. marvar
I used to live in Nashvegas, now I live a couple hundred miles east, but anyway, at that time, the pawnshops were where it was happening, don't know if its the same anymore. So many people migrate to Nashville, hoping to be a star, 95% of them end up broke and broken-hearted, so to eat, to get back home etc, they pawn their gear. The prices were pretty good, and the selection of stuff was great. May be worth checking out some pawnshops while you are in town.

I'll probably be there for seven days when I do go down...so, I'll have plenty of time to check everything out.
