GIbson1981 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Hey all. Im new to this forum and kind of new with all the Gibson Electrics. This is going to be my first real Gibson electric. Wanted a custom model black since I was in high school. I saw one at the store yesterday and it was a Gibson VOS black custom. Picked it up and played it. It sounded great and felt really good to play. I've tried several of the Gibson Custom models the past weeks and none of them really felt that good to play. Anyways, I would have picked it up yesterday but on the finish where the knobs are I could see some scratches on the finish. As well a a few on the back. On closer inspection there were a few more scratches, not for the "vintage look" I think. Manager said he could knock off $150 off the price so it came down to $4149. Just wondering.. the scratches aren;'t HUGE ones and they guy says it has never left the store (Long and Mcquade). You think it's a worthwhile purchase? They are also bringing in another "new" one from the warehouse to A/B and decide if I want the new one or the one that has been in the shop. What are your thought on this.. I know this may be a silly question, but I'd like some feedback before plunking down $4000.
damian Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 The scratches can most likely be buffed out.....You're in England or Canada I assume..... Yes, try out the NEW one coming in.......Choose the one which feels and plays and sounds better.......
