JohnnyL
Hi everybody, The name is Yoni (or Johnny) and I'm 29, from Israel. I play a Gibson Nighthawk which was also my first electric guitar, and this amazing guitar never seizes to surprise me. I'm a member of a hard rock band that lost its singer to an ego trip and I also play a Highway 1 Stratocaster and I have bad GAS for a Telecaster and the Floyded Les Paul - which I wouldn't be able to afford, ever... Unless it would maybe come in an Epiphone version. :D/ Hope this forum would keep on growing.

As for the Nighthawk - compared to what they go for on ebay the price looks way too high. I got mine for about $400 from someone who was tight on the money. They are great guitars and I know their prices have gone up lately but 1400 (euros or dollars) is crazy overpricing.
daveinspain
Yeah I thought it was way high also... but everything here is way high and in Euros...

Wolff
Welcome to the forum Johnny. Nice Strat - just like EC's 'Brownie'. :-) I have the Mexicano version with that same finish and fretboard.

JohnnyL
Nice to meet you all... Welcome to the forum Johnny. Nice Strat - just like EC's 'Brownie'. :-) I have the Mexicano version with that same finish and fretboard. A week after I bought the Strat I've seen Blackmore using a similar looking guitar in this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jp3de50_d8 I actually insisted on buying on with the CBS headstock, I just love the look and I'm a big fan of Blackmore and Hendrix... we all have our whims... :D
Wolff
Oh ya, OK - yours has the large 70's headstock and Brownie has the smaller 60's style. Got it.

I believe it is from '94. Very nice... In a recent debate about gear (I don't do that too often) I've claimed that when it concerns aesthetics the Gibson Les Paul is the Mona Lisa of guitars... But from 10 possible options I find use mostly for the common positions (which is still a lot). It can't really compete with the Strat in notch positions and I heard better teles... but it is wicked for classic hard rock tones and it offers a few tones that you don't hear on other guitars.
