Awesome!

Why do some J45TV in the fretboard are darker or lighter? Or is the photo light?

Not all rosewood is created equal. I've got some that's almost as black as ebony.

Here's a True Vintage J-45 for you. FON 3644, vintage 1948.

Not exactly. It is a 1948 Gibson J-45 that I have owned since 1966. Well loved, and very played.

Mine's on the bottom row center, flanked by two close cousins: a True Vintage Southern Jumbo to its left, and a Fuller's J-35 Reissue to its right.

If you leave all those beauties together in a room in the dark, do you reckon they might breed and produce something even more special? That's one heck of a gene pool you've got there!

Maybe a Legend series? I'll have to try that out!

Wow man! That's a great looking 48 J-45 you got there ! I can understand all the TLC it got from you. Love the inlays on the fretboard [thumbup]

I love the burst on your J-45.

Thanks. Keep in mind that sunbursts are hard to capture in a photo — in person the burst on my TV is more subtle looking as it transitions from light to dark. The truly nice thing is that I like the way it sounds even better than the way it looks.

I've found that 'bursts are almost impossible to photograph, using either natural or artificial light. They have to be seen to be appreciated.
