yoinrune Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 Awesome! Why do some J45TV in the fretboard are darker or lighter? Or is the photo light?

j45nick Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Wonderfull guitar! Is it a limited edition of those years? Not exactly. It is a 1948 Gibson J-45 that I have owned since 1966. Well loved, and very played.
Red 333 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Mine's on the bottom row center, flanked by two close cousins: a True Vintage Southern Jumbo to its left, and a Fuller's J-35 Reissue to its right. Red 333

Red 333 If you leave all those beauties together in a room in the dark, do you reckon they might breed and produce something even more special? That's one heck of a gene pool you've got there!
Morkolo Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Here's my 2008 "non-VOS" TV (all 4 lbs of it): I love the burst on your J-45.

Wow man! That's a great looking 48 J-45 you got there ! I can understand all the TLC it got from you. Love the inlays on the fretboard
Guth Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I love the burst on your J-45. Thanks. Keep in mind that sunbursts are hard to capture in a photo — in person the burst on my TV is more subtle looking as it transitions from light to dark. The truly nice thing is that I like the way it sounds even better than the way it looks.

They have to be seen to be appreciated.
