J-200 Koa Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 2010 model that has had a rather rough life; http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-Gibson-Custom-Shop-Doves-Flight-Acoustic-Guitar-/150685116159?pt=Guitar&hash=item23158866ff
DanvillRob Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 That IS pretty! It's well known that I'm not a "red" guitar fan, but I'd play that guitar...what I wouldn't do is pay $3K for it! I think I paid $3500 for my DIF and it's virtually perfect!

zombywoof Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 While I am not a fan of red guitars, that cherryburst is about the nicest red finish I have seen on a guitar. No need for a new top. Cracks are no big deal and an easy fix. I have seen one of those cherryburst CS Doves for sale used and if I recall right it was going in the $3200 range which if reflecting market value would make the asking price on this one a bit steep.
drathbun Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 These are easy fixes. The finish repair will be more challenging than the structural repair. Lovely flame on this one.

Denis57 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Wow! Great looking Dove ! I love the pictures, especially the close ups of the headstock and tuners with all the details being so clear . The guy must be a pro-photographer and not a musician. ...and I would not pay that price either.
retrorod Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I don,t think it is in that bad of shape actually! Still, out of my price range for a NEW guitar. I find it hard to cough that up for vintage. And we all know that vintage is superior. ....Don't we??? ;)
Steve Swan Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 There are some folks that are going to be thrilled to get a fancy custom guitar at a price that they thought was impossible. There's a hat for every head.
J-1854Me Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 The poor thing! Oh, those cracks, those cracks.......sigh
TommyK Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I've seen worse. Sometimes you can get that 'dropped-on-the-end-pin crack from walking away from the amplifier about 3 steps too many, then pulling the amp over..... It ain't pretty.
