webstersp Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I would like more info on this guitar. It looks a lot like the Les Paul Studio Deluxe 60 but weigh a pick guard. It was made in 2009 but why is the word standard on it and not deluxe? And what are the pick ups on this guitar? Serial # 017090308 Thanks
Gary Moore Tribute Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Les-Paul-Studio-Deluxe-60s-Exclusive.aspx The Pickups are bizarrely a 490R & a Burstbucker Pro (#2) As for the truss rod cover it was likely changed (I have a custom made one on mine also)
webstersp Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 So this would be a Les Paul Studio Deluxe but older model? With a pick guard? And how much is that guitar worth? (would be my first les paul)
Gary Moore Tribute Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Its THAT a 60's Studio Deluxe model, nothing special RRP £1100, the original owner has added a scratch plate & standard truss rod cover its nothing special Worth wise its likely the same as a normal Studio about £600 according to ebay anyway...
webstersp Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 They sell them for over 1600$ brand new (only at guitar center). The pick ups are splitable. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson-Les-Paul-Studio-Deluxe-Electric-Guitar-105475420-i1476659.gc So is 995$ shipped a good price or should I wait for something better and pay more? My budget is around 1300$ Thanks

My budget is around 1300$ Thanks That is a Studio 60s deluxe in Heritage Cherry Burst. I own one. They are very nice guitars. I would not pay 995 shipped for it used. I wouldn't go any higher than 700-800.00 used shipped. And, this one has been modified. That is not the original truss rod cover. Should say Deluxe on it. Also, does not come with a pickgaurd. Adding one would not increase it's value imho. I went through hell and high water to get one in good condition from Guitar Center. And, it had to be shipped from the Distro Center for that to occur. So, lord knows what you'll get on a used one. One of the ones I went through split the fretboard from the neck with a slight turn of the truss rod. So....
webstersp Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Well I'll go for an esp Eclipse II ACSB and change the pickups then..
webstersp Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 I finally bought bought the ESP Eclipse II ASCB. I'll change the emg's and go for my favorite SD JB :P With a SD Jazz or 59 in the neck. But if I want to do coil split what do I need to buy?
