ol fred Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Anyone have any experience with the Fender Passport 500 Pro ?
larryp58 Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I played through one at a local bar-b-que last year. It would be adequate for background music (fed from an external source like a CD player, etc.) for about 75-100 people. With instruments, as in my case, it really lacked tone. "tinny" sounding at best. When pushed hard, a lot of feedback. As far as ease setting it up, a piece of cake. Like the way it all packs into one case. If I was gonna spend the money purchasing a small PA system, I would consider other options.
DanvillRob Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Anyone have any experience with the Fender Passport 500 Pro ? Fred, I haven't used one, but I sure like 'em! They seem VERY portable!
ol fred Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 Bob, Larry, thanks for the input. Would really like to have some sort of system in place before the next jam. Been looking at this one, the 300 and the JBL Eon 210.
MR GIBS Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I use a "Yamaha Stage Pass 500" and I am very happy with this one.

MissouriPicker Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I use a Yamaha Stagepas 300 and it kicks-butt. Very portable. The mixer attaches to one of the speakers if you want to carry it that way. The sound is truly good. I can only imagine the kick you get from the 500 unit. Very easy to quickly set-up. Almost bought the Fender because it would run on battery power if you didn't have an electric outlet somewhere, but I didn't think the sound was equal to the Yamaha......Used the Yamaha 300 at an outdoor city park. Sat the speakers on two tables and had it cranked-up to just over 1/2 power. You could hear us (just two guys and two acoustic guitars) very clearly from two blocks away. We had over 500 people that night and the sound was pretty cool. Yamaha makes some real good electronics. The Stagepas series is a winner in my book. I can setup in less than ten minutes and tear down in the same......Naturally, there's other good systems out there, but for ease-of-use, portablility, and quality, the Yamahas are right up there.......Hope you find the one you need.
