Just came across this two towns over...now..I just bought a brand new J45 3 months ago..BUT this price seems unreal if in great condition as posted. Would seem I could make some money on it...dam....wish it was an AJ or a SJ and that would make this a true no brainer

I wouldn't call that "ridiculous"; "aggressive" or "sharp-pencil priced" perhaps.

And from that oh-so-clear photo, how could you miss? [rolleyes]

There may be a reason that the price is low, despite the "excellent" condition as stated.

And there is that pesky recession going on out there; mot all stuff is selling as briskly as it was a few years back.

Hopefully, someone will pick up a nice no-issues J-45 at a good price!

they whine if the price is too high for them, and if it's too low to be true.

[ also don't understand why anybody would pay $1,100. for a J-45 whether "Heritage" or "Historic" or "Hyped" when they can buy a superior-sounding Mark 72 acoustic for less. Yes, the ones nobody wants that sound better than all the other ones put together in the same room.

not to mention that the J-45 in question looks like the chipboard "Rancher" guitars sold by Montgomery Wards in the 1950's.

oh me, I'm terrible, am I ? Well I've been around guitars since the very early 1960's, I've seen it all. You guys are too young to understand.

At age 64, having played since the early 60's, I'm not too young to understand. I've had a 1948 J-45 since 1966. It's a great guitar, and I wouldn't trade it for a roomful of Mk's. Beauty is in the eye (and ear) of the beholder. My J-45 is beautiful on both counts.

you are really 64? reminds me of The Beatles' song "When I'm 64"

I agree, you are not too young to understand about the Classic Gibson guitars, I'm only 59 but the Mark guitars are more beautiful if that's the "standard" you are talking about. If Sound is the "standard", they also win hands down.

I've seen them sell in SF bay area for $1200 when someone is motivated...just make sure it is not Chinese knockoff!!

that's the eBay danger, how do you make sure ? and also how do you make sure it is not a stolen guitar?

Actually, only two months from turning 65. I've never played an Mk of any variety. I like the concept, but it doesn't say "Gibson" to me, any more than the Cayenne says "Porsche". I'm an air-cooled flat-six kind of guy. Maybe it's a function of age.

As far as beauty goes, here's my 1948. To each his own, but I think she's beautiful. Sounds as good as she looks, too.

oh that IS a beautiful instrument, looks like John Lennon's J-160 without the pickup?

Let's just say she's had a long and interesting life. Sort of like her owner.

Look closer and notice the square shouldered owner mirrored in the sloped shoulders of the guitar.

Just a detail -
