New White Thunderbird?

Gibson is really on a roll for basses this year - the DC Les Paul, the Shortscale Tbird, Explorer, Flying V, Oversized Les Paul, Nirvanna RD, and a Cherry Thunderbird! I almost pulled the trigger on the new cherry Thunderbird - but have been told by two sources that a white Thunderbird has been made as well and will soon be coming out. Any "official" confirmation of this? As much as I love that cherry finish, I think I'd hold out for white.

I had a white 2002. I'm a sucker for white basses anyway, but I thought it was easily the best looking color for a TBird.

That Thunderbird looks great! [thumbup]

Thanks! White on a bird kicks a*s. TBirds are one of the best R&R basses made. I remember at the time that not long after I got mine it seemed white became all the rage and everybody was ordering one. This one turned a nice custard color.

When I got it, I don't think the seller had it 6 months. This was prior to the price kick, but it was still $1500 new and their flagship bass. It had some QC issues, albeit minor, but still enough to get under my skin. However, it played and sounded great. The neck was killer. All in all it was a really nice one and I got it with the gigantic OHSC with the velvet blanket inside...that is such a classy touch!

But, after several years I just didn't find myself reaching for it very often, so it became part of the deal I made last year to get the LP Triumph.

I love my White 2006 T-Bird - I got it last year to compliment the Black T-Bird that I got in 1991. I kinda hope that they don't make new ones...they are pretty exclusive right now and you don't see them too often. I looked for 4 months before finding mine.

I'd love to see a Thunderbird IV in Satin Ebony. Love that finish!

I've actually found a 2006 model Thunderbird IV in Satin Ebony and it's mine now! It's a beaut. Back from having a set up later today!
