leovan83 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Hey guys, I was looking at these two models on the internet, and the only 2 differences I could find were these: Les Paul Standard: Only 2 finishes availabe, both solid finishes, Ebony and Gold Top. Pickguard comes attached. Maple top, non figured (it's painted with a solid finish anyway). Les Paul Standard Plus: Transparent finishes available, mostly sunburst finishes, pickguard comes not attached (but it's included), you need to drill holes for it to fit. Flamed maple tops. Also, the Plus is 200 bucks more. Both guitars have chambered mahogany bodies with maple tops. So, to sum it up, one costs 200 bucks more because it has a flamed maple top and a sunburst finish, correct? Other than that, same exact feeling, sounding and playing guitar?
LPguitarman Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Yes, you're paying for the higher grade maple top with flame. Worth it in my book. Love flame tops.
strat-o-steve Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Yep, when you get up over $2000, what's another $200 lol ! Besides, the Plus model looks better, and will be more desirable in the future if you ever choose to sell it :)
cjmwrx Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 The Chicago Blue looks awesome! It just made my xmas list.
