gotomsdos Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I'm outside US, so I'm considering getting a Gibson J45 TV from thomann.de Uk. But someone told me that it's an illegal seller of counterfeits. Is it true ? Thank you !
ParlourMan Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Absolutely not, the poster in that thread on the AGF is walking a fine-line legally speaking, Thomann is a Gibson dealer, one of the biggest in Europe in fact. I have bought Gibson's and even Gibson TV lines from them, 100% genuine. no issues. Disregard that idiot's posts on the AGF, he's talking out of his cheeky-spot ;)
EpiphoneFan1989 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 No, Thomann is not illegal. It´s a very serious dealer and europes biggest music shop. Also radio- and tv stations are costumers of thomann. I order my equipment there too. And the delivery time is very, very quick.
EuroAussie Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Ive visted the actual store twice in past year and played some of the most amazing Gibsons my sweaty hands ever touched. I bought my SWD from Thomann. I think this is enough for an answer.
ParlourMan Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 ...and the thread was pulled! Shame, I hoped to see a rather comical conclusion to it.
gotomsdos Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 Absolutely not, It's settled He said incorretly.
EuroAussie Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Real shame ... was dying the get his response ... ...and the thread was pulled! Shame, I hoped to see a rather comical conclusion to it.
ParlourMan Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Real shame ... was dying the get his response ... Me too... Would be curious to see if any Thomann staff actually caught it... It could have been a hilarious addition to it. What a clown!
stein Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 There was a guy on this very forum, who caused some controversy a while back because he was trying to sell a fake Epi. I think he said it came from that store. I wonder if it is the same guy? I think for the most part, it would make more sense to question the honesty of the guy making accusations before questioning the honesty of the shop he might claim to have got the guitar from. It certainly proved true in this case (the guy on this forum).
BigKahune Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 . I think the comment over on the AGF was/is rid!culous and the author's a tool. I also think the title of this thread sucks - and does a huge disservice to Thomann. . I'm thinking this thread won't last too long. .
j45nick Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 The anonymity of the interweb strikes again. It's easy to make accusations when you hide behind a pseudonym. I'm all for people using their real names, even here. -Nick Nicholson
ponty Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Just note that this store is in de ....ie Germany and not the UK.
