dem00n Posted November 5, 2011 Author Posted November 5, 2011 You turning on to some old Trower dem00n? You know it.
JellyWheat Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 You know it. I think Robin Trower is one of the most under-rated guitarists EVER . IMO he blows the doors off of a lot of Legends' chariots! My $0.02/FWIW/YMMV J/W

JellyWheat Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 He is pretty damn good, i could see him on a top 100 list. He aint no clapton though. No argument there, at all... but he has a captivating sense of melody and dynamics. He can get hackneyed, if you listen to enough of him, but I can listen to more Trower and appreciate it than I can to some of the "Lesser Gods" [...as compared to Mr. Clapton]. I won't name any, because they might be some of your favorites. Suffice it to say that those who have not listened to Robin Trower ought to give it a try... at least ONCE. Regars, J/W

4Hayden Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0d1HilfLxA Awesome !!
djroge1 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 The problem Trower ran into was being compared with Hendrix because of his sound and that is some very big shoes to fill. Trower is no Hendrix but then again I don't believe he set out to be Hendrix but the critics compared him that way. Truly and excellent guitarist. I got to see him at a small club back in the late 80's - it was loud as hell but totally awesome!
gypsyseven Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 He´s such a great player.I saw him last year live and it was amazing!!!
cookieman15061 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Hahaha finally! I posted some Trower vids earlier in the year and got little response but glad to see some younger members discovering what a player he is. Check out his early work as an original member of Procol Harum. Oh something like Whiskey Train maybe.
badbluesplayer Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Saw him last year and my ears are still plugged up!! Fantastic!
BobB Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 He is one of the greats. I would love to see him play live.
Unionman Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 'Too Rolling Stoned' is one of the best songs ever-James Dewar, what a great vocalist.
