slimt Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Is the Neck any good? What happen to the rest of the Guitar?
onewilyfool Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I've seen termite damage before, but this one takes the cake!!!
ParlourMan Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I dunno, you invite Pete Townshend round for dinner, you have to accept what happens.....
EuroAussie Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Ouch, that was rather painful .... I guess that J-45 will have a somewhat more 'open' tone ...
E-minor7 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I'm sure a good enthusiastic luthier could fix this over a hard-working weekend. . . Seriously – Is this piece yours ? What is the nut-width ? Is it straight ? In case yes, is it for sale ?
Red 333 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Too many days application of ToneRite. Red 333
j45nick Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 For sale: vintage Gibson acoustic. Beautiful Brazilian fretboard. Some playwear. Short scale version. Needs minor repairs to correct intonation problems. With a little work, this one will be a beauty. Asking price of $5k reflects needed repairs. Act fast. This one won't last.

jdd707 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 So the owner obviously lives in a no fault divorce State .... which half did she get?
j45nick Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Actually, that looks like it could possibly be a very nice neck, with a lovely early 19-fret Brazilian board. That assumes the back of the neck wasn't used to beat something hard, like somebody's head.

Dotneck Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 That proves it. Gibson's quality control is lacking. A guitar like that should never get past final inspection at bozeman!
