Yeah, that's a good DVD (Dylan's 30th Anniversary Concert) overall. IF you can still find it. Love Dylan's stuff!

EC was in grand form, too. I would have loved, to see him using a Les Paul or ES-335, on this. But...

Indeed! Now here's a question. Would you rather have Cropper and G.E. Smith in your band, or Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall??

If I got a kick *** singer who can entertain, I'll go with The Colonel and Smith.

But, if I need the axe players to be the main entertainment, I might go with Trucks and Bramhall. But it better be a rhythm section that can get in there and get it going, or else it is back to Smith and the Colonel.

I have newfound respect for Clapton from hearing this. Because it's my favorite Dylan song, and I did not expect that bluesy treatment. It was a pleasant surprise, hearing an old favorite in a radically-different style. That's where my new-found respect for him comes from--being able to take a great, classic song and make it his own, in a style that's different from how it was originally done.

His backing band was pretty hot too. And he kept his leads tasteful. Very classy. [thumbup]

Thanks very much for posting that, Cookie. I hadn't seen that before.

The whole band are obviously enjoying EC's performance as much as he is himself.

Great playing by all. When he's on form Clapton's playing is peerless IMO.

Steve Cropper's expression throughout is a delight to witness!

I listened to this on my phone late last night and though it sounded pretty mediocre (I mean for the calibre of the musicians) but today, on my PC, I can see (hear) what the fuss is about. Brilliant stuff! Thanks for posting it.
