lagerfanny Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Are you using the light for commuting (to be seen) or off roading (to need to see) ? 2 quality cycling sites I've used are, http://singletrackworld.com/ http://www.bikeradar.com/ To be honest your budget is fine for road use but restrictive for field use. A fantastic U.K. company I always recommend & use are, http://www.hopetech.com/ These people manufacture various light designs and are really worth checking out at your local bike shop.
Lungimsam Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 If you want to see the road clearly, you will probably have to shell out the pounds for lights like the ones made by the NiteRider company. They are small, and easily clip to handlebars or frame pieces, and are bright like a car headlight. They have a wireless model that would do the trick for about double your budget (sorry). For 30 pounds you probably will only be able to get a light that allows you to be seen, but you probably wont be able to see the road clearly enough for safe riding.
krock Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 Thanks guys, and yeah the 30 quid was just to buy lights for commuting purposes
Lungimsam Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Riding at night is a blast when no cars are on the road. I went riding a 2 am once and had so much fun. Only the deer saw me. Tip: Avoid any dark spots you see on the road at night, they may be holes. Have fun!
