Davinchi Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Maybe someone can clear up a question that I have about a used Les Paul (studio). I bought what I believe is a studio serial # 62093524, stamped "made in USA" below the s/n #. black with the pickup selector switch at the bottom of the guitar next to the volume knobs. I haven't seen any other models with the switch in this position. Is this a studio or another model? Thanks
strat-o-steve Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Show a picture. It sounds like you may have a Les Paul Doublecut Studio......

Guest BentonC Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Double check that serial number- it doesn't look right... I'm guessing it should be an "8" in the first position instead of the "6", which would put it at '83. Could be "The Paul" if that's the case... (the one in the photo from Big Bill)
Davinchi Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Does it look like this? Yes, the switch position is just like your photo. I did make a mistake with the serial number it does start with an 82093524. My Les Paul is gloss black. Why is the switch in this position? Is this something that Gibson did for certain models?
Big Bill Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I guess your's is something like this? Back in the early 80s Gibson put out "The Paul" for the more modest market. I guess it was the for runner of the Studio. I remember a friend of mine got an SG that was similar.
