here is one more question

what can you tell about SH-2 Jazz neck pickup by Seymour Duncan ?

It's not so hot and has crystal clear cleans so it's great for Jazz and for clean passages in metal music. The flip side is that its not a PAF style pickup so is not as good as something like the Seymour Duncan '59 for bluesy type stuff, although you won't get any muddiness. Check out my youtube vid below to hear it vs. an Epi neck pickup.

.

So you get a look at the 94 - here's my LP with the neck 94 -

I have this exact same mod (neck P94) pending for my Desertburst '03 Studio Plus. Will get to it one of these days. The SD Phat Cat is also well regarded. Either of these options should get the OP closer to a jazz tone, and of course amp/speaker combinations are a major factor.

I have the jazz pickup in the bridge of my paul, and I love it. Great clean tones. I also have a Seymour Duncan Phat Cat in the bridge position of my SG, and I'm happy with it as well. I'm obviously no expert, I mostly play heavy stuff but the Phat Cat is something to consider if you want a P-90 sound. Also, why not just buy an SG already fitted with soapbars, if thats what you want?
