bugle1boy Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Hi Guys, This is my first post here, so be gentle! I have a Casino Elitist that has very little volume from the #1 string, (high E). I've gone to a .011string and also raised the pickup to get it closer to the string, but is still seems almost 'dead'. I'm thinking I'd take it to a good luthier, but am making a stop here first, Any ideas? Thanks!
Whitmore Willy Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Bugle1boy, Welcome to the forum. Sounds a little weird....not the kind of thing that is easily diagnosed over the net. Couple of questions. 1.Did you just get the guitar? 2.If not, when did this start or has it always been this way? Not hearing just the high E....Hmmm. 3.Does it sound normal compared to the other strings when not plugged into an amp? 4.Is it the same way when the bridge or neck pickup are selected one at a time? Willy
damian Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Try buying your strings in "High Volume"...............This should solve the problem...... ... I really do not know...A bad saddle ??? Welcome to the forum...
ajzwart Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 LOL at "High Volume" strings comment This one also confuses me... A bad saddle could be the culprit, as said above...
Whitmore Willy Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Hi Guys, This is my first post here, so be gentle! Ajzwart and Damian, Thought we started a good conversation. Maybe we weren't gentile enough. (kidding) Willy
RSDx Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Perhaps try raising the pole piece(s) on the pickup(s) under that string? Pole piece height adjustments can do wonders with the tone from Epi's stock pups...dunno how many folks actually take advantage of this easy adjustment... 'tis one thing I love about 'buckers. Does seem to be a weird problem, though....nut??? bridge saddle??? just plain bad luck with bad string(s)???
