Fishman Loudbox Artist

I know it's a relatively new item, but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts/ opinions. I sold a 78 Fender Champ in order to get a nice amp for my SWD and I don't want to make the wrong choice here. This Fishman is interesting. Thanks in advance!

I'll second what Modoc said.

The smallest Loudbox is a bit harsh (when I dug into my SJ200 it kinda sounded like a Les Paul Junior through a Silverface Twin, glassy and clean but snarly in the mids in an unpleasant way) and isn't an ideal guitar-and-vocal amplification solution, but I've heard nothing but great things about the larger Loudboxes and the Soloamps.

Definitely worth an audition!

I've heard only great things about the Loudbox line-up, in fact, the prior post in this thread is the first negative I have heard.

What I am wondering about is the distinction between the Loudbox 100 and the Loudbox Artist. They are basically the same price and generally look like they compete head-to-head.

Thanks for the input! I'll probably go ahead and purchase it. I'll also post a follow up review. Anne, I saw the lunchbox review and was intrigued as well. The Fishman seems to have everything I'm looking for.....

Like the others, I saw the specs for this amp and the glowing reviews and thought it would be great . I have played a performer (the bigger, older fishman loudbox) for several years now and really liked the idea of a smaller amp with the same features. I ordered one on line and got the amp on Monday. After a week audition, it is going back. I found that the sound was much, much worse than my previous loudbox performer. It sounds extremely nasily and harsh. I could not get close to a guitar sound that I likes from the amp, and the vocals were much worse. Saddly, I am going to have to go another direction. The amp has great features, but just does not sound like a professional acoustic guitar amp should in my opinion. However many people really seem to like this amp. Different strokes for different folks. I am thinking about a new AER compact 60 to replace the loudbox artist. I do not mean to bash the product, just provide some perspective from the other side.

Uh oh...looks like I'll have to compare and contrast at this point. The AER is twice as much. Ican'spend that, Maybe I listen to the lunchbox...thanks for responding
