DAS44 Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 I saw Derek open for Santana years ago (briefly, merely because despite my urging my father decided we shouldn't be early). I hadn't a clue who he was then, but I do recall thinking "Who is this wizard making these noises?". Lucky I found out ain't I? I'm a huge fan of Derek's now, he's up there with my favorite musicians... and now throw in his wife, Madam Tedeschi... and I'm just blown away on so many levels. Probably one of the best musical pairings in a long long time, if not ever. More proof that there's good music 'round nowadays, Joe Bonamassa, Derek Trucks, Robert Randolph, the list goes on! A +1 for the post kind sir, great stuff. Someone here posted this jewel a while back... From the same show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7czlanjaObs
FirstMeasure Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 I love that version of Space Captain. Too bad Leon wasn't there.
surfpup Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 That's the sh*t right there! It's also an excellent lesson in dynamics. There are like 20 people on stage, yet they manage to whisper as well as roar.
Jon S. Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Have Mercy!!! I thought the Crowes version was the best..... until I heard this one!!
bluzhammer Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Doesn't get any better than that . Great post
rocketman Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Wow that blew me away. I loved it and didn't at the same time. Loved it because it was simply spectacular. Didn't because now I want to throw my guitar out the window...
