slaveunit Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 These pickups were in a Les Paul copy guitar I purchased from another forum. The seller said it has Classic 57s in it but obviously they aren't. They had a garbage pickup cover job on them so I took the covers off. It also looks like the poles were changed out to match the gold covers. I would just really like to know what pickups these are. They read as 8.33k (Neck) and 15.57k (Bridge). They are also single wire pups. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
slaveunit Posted November 19, 2011 Author Posted November 19, 2011 Going from this my only guess is the 500T/496R combo installed at the factory since there are only 2 wires? http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/53043-gibsonepiphone-pickups-dc-resistance-values/
slaveunit Posted November 19, 2011 Author Posted November 19, 2011 With this picture they look like alnico magnets. Maybe the 498T Hot Alnico 5 and something else?
slaveunit Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 ...and back to my original guess. These so look like ceramic magnets. I'm not really familiar with pickup's internal so I now realize that you cannot see the magnets from the back holes.
