BigKahune Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 . Welcome. You could post a couple of pictures here - one overhead shot of the whole guitar and close ups of the front and back of the headstock (no angles). The members here will take a look and post their opinions on it's authenticity. Or you could send a couple of pictures of the guitar (2mb limit) and the serial number to . service@gibson.com . they should be able to tell you if the guitar is genuine.
pippy Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Serial numbers on fake Gibsons are almost always copied from real, genuine, Gibson guitars. There's no way anyone can tell if any 'Gibson' guitar is genuine just from a serial number. Photographs are a necessity. P.
btoth76 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Hello! "94023019"? Are You sure? Since 1977 the Gibson serial numbers follow this scheme: YDDDYPPP. YY - for year, DDD is for the day of the year, and PPP is the number of instrument stamped that day. According to this, Your guitar was made on 402nd day of 1993...there are only 365 days a year... Cheers... Bence

btoth76 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Ah! I beg Your pardon! I didn't knew about this! Cheers... Bence
