hpw69er Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Hello folks, first excuse my poor english 'cause I'm from Germany. Does anybody in USA know about this guitar: Gibson Advanced Jumbo 75th Anniversary Bavarian Spruce MSB It is offered in Germany by only one seller and I've got one since last week. Further on there are many sellers in Japan, but there are no information in USA. The guitar ist very stunning with a great sound at all. Thanks and have a nice day HP
slimt Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Is the Bavarian Spruce the same as Silver Spruce from Germany? I thought Gibson had already used that ... Is it really Tight grained?

Denis57 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I want to see a pic of this guitar! To much hype to not have a pic!!! Yeah this sounds real cool!
modoc_333 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 actually, that's all there is on the spec sheet. the only other thing is this blurb: "Sample tests of this rare tone‐wood from India proved it to be extraordinary in its reflective and resonant sound quality" that, and i took out the part about dealer cost. here is a picture of one i found on the web. If anyone needs a real picture of one that i have I can get it when i return to work on Wednesday... this is a fairly accurate representation though.
modoc_333 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 actually, i just found a picture in my phone that i took of one in my store! here you go....
joytotheworld Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Hello, I am new on this site. I actually own this guitar. I bought it about 6 weeks ago from Chicago Music Exchange, in Chicago of course:). It is stunningly beautiful to look at and equally beautiful sounding. I must say though; I am a new Gibson convert; acoustic convert that is...I have been a sucker for my SG standards for years. However, as far as acoustics go, I have leaned toward Martins and Collings in the past. I bought a Gibson J-45 TV at nearly the same time as this guitar. I by far prefer the J-45 TV. It is not that it is better, I think that the J-45 TV just has that Gibson sound I was looking for. It is the mahogany I believe. The AJ 75th Anniversary has Bavarian Spruce and North Indian Rosewood. It is a monster of a guitar as far as volume and projection go. However, I find myself playing the quieter but sweeter (to my ears) J-45 TV. I am loving that sound. I will post some pics of the AJ so you can check her out. Jason

modoc_333 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Mo doc i payed 2500.00 for mine is this reasonable? Thanks As a dealer (non-internet authorized) I really can't comment on price in open forums. sorry. Look at it like this though: you paid the normal price for a standard AJ, and got an upgraded AJ. see what i'm saying? ;)
Helmut Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Hi, I'm new here (and German) too, but I think, it's maybe interesting for you that I've made the opposite experience as Jason: I was keen on a Gibson J-45 TV, which I had seen (and played) at my local dealer. As a last check before buying I decided to go to a music store (session music) at Frankfurt. I tested there maybe 15 - 20 guitars (almost all actual Gibson models including a J-45 TV, furthermore various Martins, Taylors and Bouchers). But this anniversary model immediatetly get my attention. During my testing a string broke and I first decided to let it be with this guitar (I didn't know this model so I thought it was a bad seller). But I came back to this guitar again and again. The dealer replaced later the string which was a good investment: I have bought this guitar finally and I'm very happy with it. It's a real tone monster (in a positive sense). It's my second Gibson acoustic guitar (besides a Robert Johnson model) so I'm surely not the best conoisseur for the gibson acoustic tone. But in my opinion it's the best acoustic guitar I've ever played (and smelled - it's intensive as smelling a baby). Here are some more informations of this lovely guitar: http://www2.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/Blogs/gibson-acoustic.aspx Well done Gibson!
