Not a torture device, but an intonation one... Well, I posted a request for help/info regarding my Howard Roberts Fusion on the semis forum, and nobody has answered. Given that fingers tailpieces also appear on high-end archtop acoustics, and given that the most knowledgeable and friendly brigade on the whole site are here, I thought I'd post a link to the original post where I might get some sort of reply. Thanks in advance.

I think this is the tailpiece you speak of.....

Hwrd Rbts Tailpiece

These guys sell the whole tailpiece, but they might have the thumb screws as well. Call them up.....ask for Phil and see if he has the screws alone. Phil is an old buddy, played bass in my last band......good guy!

It got my attention as a torture device or perhaps flat-pack furniture with wrongly-interpreted instructions like 'apply fixty bolt A to fixty bolt B but warning for the finger squeeze'???

This may also apply to the tailpiece shown above...

Thanks Bud. When I've got a moment, I'll enquire of your friend as to availability and cost of shipping to Hungary. Thomann have the whole tailpiece too, so I might also try there. The price of a whole thing is scary, and the rest of the unit is in tact, hence the search for a single screw!

BK, I think the potential with said item is in fact mental torture, as you spend hours fiddling with the screws and the basic sound of the guitar is much the same!

In fact, with 11s on it, the intonation doesn't alter that much either, though I can imagine that screwing it right down could give a more anchored and less trapezey feel. I'd like to know what happens to the 6th string when it is screwed down.
