deepblue Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I just learned something. Chambered reissues are called "Clouds"....an R9 in the chambered version is called the "Cloud 9" I dont think this is official Gibson lingo, but it sounds cool.
:oilpit: Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 They chamber reissues? Oh god, Jesse is right, don't buy a guitar that is at least 20 years old.
deepblue Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Time for Tim to get a new forum name maybe? no no, it doesnt apply to Tim or myself for that matter. We have the true solid bodies that arent weight relieved. I guess some folks wanted a reissue that was chambered and Gibby obliged them.

How does "Solid R9" work for you? I'm joking people

Wolff Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Oh NVM, I get it now. There are chambered and non-chambered(solid) Reissues. Tim/R9 has the non-chambered and I assume more true to the original version. Therefore even though 'Cloud 9' is a cool sounding name it doesn't apply to Tim. Somehow 'Solid R9' doesn't cut it though. I'm having a bad night here at the forum.
deepblue Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 How does "Solid R9" work for you? Its been taken....Thats my porn star name.
saturn Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Well then, whats a Class 5? Is that just like a fancy Custom Shop Standard? Cloud 9, Class 5, R9,...
Tim Plains Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Well then' date=' whats a Class 5? Is that just like a fancy Custom Shop Standard?[/quote']There are a few differences.
