Classical Guitar arrangement of music by the Beatles - Carlos is a very gifted arranger as well as performer. He is probably (with Bream) my favourite established classical guitarist. I actually think the extremely rare thing about the Beatles (rare for popular music that is) is that if you strip a song down bare; I.e just to the melody and harmony of the song, it still stands up as a interesting piece of composition ... The 'skeleton' of the piece has tremendous substance! Versatile Posted November 30, 2011 Share Posted November 30, 2011 IMO one of the main reasons the Beatles were so strong as songwriters Was John and Paul's competence on both guitar and keyboards Giving them both a strong feel for harmony and the all important accompanying bass notes And the vibrant intelligent spirit which is timeless.....
