j45nick Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 That's a bit cheaper than normal for these. You'll be pleased to know that the Gibson ones usually fetch more than the Martin or Fender versions, since they're harder to come by. They usually go $100-$150 or so. I ended up having a similar stool custom-made by a bar stool company, as I like one a little taller than the stock 24", and a little shorter than the 30" version. Also didn't like the smooth vinyl, which I find a bit sticky after a few hours. Cost was similar to one of these "stock" stools, but of course, no Gibson logo.
BigKahune Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 . I thought this stool looked comfy for those guys who play in the nude. Don't remember who posted originally. Maybe you Wily. . . B)

I'd like to get a couple of new stools... I only have one GC 24" stool, (with the start on it).... would LOVE a couple of Gibson ones...but I don't wanna pay $70!

I only have one GC 24" stool, (with the start on it).... would LOVE a couple of Gibson ones...but I don't wanna pay $70! Here it is. Source was mybarstooldirect.com (how sleazy does that sound?). Manufacturer (in the US!) is hollandbarstool.com. Seat dimension is 14.5" diameter, nominal 4" thick, which is pretty standard. Chrome plate tubular steel (quite heavy), swiveling top. This is nominally the 25" stool, but it actually measures 26.5"+ tall. It could easily be cut down up to 1.5". They have a variety of materials to choose from for the same price. This is a Classic Series C7C1, vinyl seat option Allante Black (lightly textured matte black vinyl) with Allante Nu Red piping and Allante Black side skirt. Cost, including shipping, was $73. It has worked out just fine. Never thought I'd be buying music furniture from "My Barstool Direct". Sign of a wasted youth. Might as well have been playing billiards right here in River City.
