Buc McMaster Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Saturday I will visit my old friend Jimmy at Southpaw Guitars with my CJ165 in tow. I've been hankerin' for a new guitar lately, something a bit larger than the compact jumbo. Spoke with him yesterday and he says he has a very fine used Hummingbird (and a couple new ones as well) and a D18GE.......I intend to give them both a good work out and see what else he may have that suits me. I certainly want to stick with a short scale instrument and, having played rosewood guitars for many years now, I think it's time to make the switch to mahogany. All I want for Christmas is a new guitar!
EuroAussie Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 You are going to have a lot of fun Buc, good time for guitar shopping and trust you will find the perfect Xmas present. Dont forget to try out a few J-45s' if you are looking for a great mahogany allrounder ! All the best :-)
blindboygrunt Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 i picked up a j45 one week ago , dont regret a single thing , extremely inspiring guitar , too lovely looking to not pick it up and strum it cant decide whether i envy you or not , is great fun looking at guitars and knowing you're getting one but a little bit painful to just.... not..... have it ...... yet good luck with your hunt
E-minor7 Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Hope you'll find the right one. As far as I know, you are an experienced guy and should post us a hunting-report.
