JellyWheat
Check out the lower frets, the fret wire seems pretty flat. Epiphone Casino I'd say she needs a refret... not unexpected for a guitar of that vintage, if it has been played a lot. That's not a big deal. A good luthier can turn out a job that will be better than what came out of the factory. My concern is WHY the upper frets have been dressed down so much, and why they have not been uniformly dressed. Might just be a bad DIY job by somebody who didn't know you have to crown and polish the frets after you dress them down. It's a little pricey for what it is, IMO, but these old gals are getting harder and harder to find in anywheres decent shape. I would feel better about that guitar if I could examine it personally, but I'm very conservative that way. My $0.02/FWIW/YMMV J/W
Guest farnsbarns
Imo, yes it needs a refret. Be aware that sometimes frets like that have been filed to fix buzzing which can be a sign of a bigger problem. I'm not saying that's the case here, just worth considering. Edit: Jellywheat said it all while I was still posting.
Riffster
I was looking at the Guitar out of curiosity but those frets caught my eye, the description does not say anything about it either. I am actually trying to see how much Casinos go for since I am planning on selling mine, not a vintage model mind you.
Andy R
Well it is a horrible job to say the least and my bet would be that they are compensating for a hump and dip where the fretboard is attached to the body. My guess is it would require a neck reset if the top is stable enough and the fretboard planed as well as a fret job... Andy
JellyWheat
I think Andy is right on the money once again. J/W

Silenced Fred
Actually thats a rare 1963 "Casino Slide" model..........It came with an Epiphone slide......... ... I had no idea. Thank you for educating me on these old models, I should do more research into vintage epiphones, that's pretty cool though that epiphone made a slide model of the casino, i think with the hollow body and p90s it would rock for slide
Californiaman
I too agree with Andy. I'm thinking neck refit and refret jobber.
