picknhand
I have an ES-347 Gibson in really excellent condition that I am trying to sell. The serial number on the back of the stock is 72489066. Per conversations with a few shops, the "1st" and "5th" number tell me the date it was manufactured (thus I have a 1979); however, all the "official" information I have found put out by Gibson isn't really clear. In general, it seems hard to find much information on the 347s. So...I am (a) looking to confirm the year it is manufactured (B) then trying to find a good source to price it fairly. Thanks in advance for anything you can offer.
BigKahune
. I would say 1979. For confirmation of the serial# and date, have you tried - Sending the serial# to service@gibson.com with a pic or two (2mb) limit. They respond usually same day of next day. A check of the completed listings on fleaBay - http://www.ebay.com/csc/i.html?_nkw=ES-347&rt=nc&LH_Complete=1&_dmpt=Guitar&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m283 - not too many, but looks like about $2200 is the going rate there.
