Can anyone help me understand what this is.Are these vinyl stckets they are putting over the dot markers on guitar necks?And if so,wouldn't they just peel off or affect the tone?

Did you actually read the auction description?

 

Yeah. They're vinyl "stickers."

 

Why would you think they'd affect tone?

 

In theory, you'd think they'd peel off, but vinyl is different than adhesive-based products. Same kind of science as window clings you can get or even window tinting film to some degree. According to the description, "[...] our materials are 5-7 YEARS outdoor durability high performance vinyl films in variety of colors. They can withstand years of playing without any sign of wear or tear even when doing intense bends and pull-offs, all tested way before going on."

 

Kind of a gimmick, but to each his own.

He calls them inlays,but they are not inlays,just stickers
