Duende
This test is a part of a research project the author is doing in the theory of multiple intelligences; i.e the idea that intelligence is divided into many sections that the traditional IQ test doesn't allow for; here is a pitch test Click on the link and begin the test :) A tone will be played and then another - All you must do is say which is lower or higher http://tonometric.com/adaptivepitch/

Duende
That was quite interesting.... and i am glad to have scientific PROOF that I am not tone deaf! I am glad you enjoyed it! I think like all tests (including IQ tests) you have to view it is just a test and essentially just a bit of fun! I think it works as a great ear trainer though!!! DAS44
One try, 0.375 Hz near the end (but I think I only got two or three at that frequency difference then I messed up and it went back to .5). At that point, I had to hit replay several times to get a bead on it, but on the bright side I could hear it. Not sure what that means, I'll try it again later (when the house is quieter) to make sure it's not luck or anything. (I'm not joking btw) On another note (ha-ha), that tone is annoying as heck at a higher frequency.
stein
Interesting...I scored 1.35 the second time, but 4. something the first time, but the first time I "failed" the IQ part because I was not able to figure the replay and kept hitting the wrong answer over and over because I thought that was how it worked! And...I could also see with a little practice it is a lot easier to do the second time around. Just like RL, I think the ear gets a little more in tune when not rusty, or when trying harder. Just like some days also, I can't really hear squat!

Jeff-7
1.35 average as well at the end, make sure you check the volume beforehand because it may scare the piss out of you. It automatically starts off at max volume. Edit: That thing is addictive, was able to get down to .675 average at the end. I'll have to bookmark this to play with once in a while. L5Larry
That was fun, very interesting site. Pitch - 2.4 Rhythm - 84% Visual - 80% Tone Deaf - 83.3% These were all FIRST time through scores. I found the Visual test most interesting. rocketman
I got 13.8 Hz. It said I was in the 3rd percentile. Did I take the wrong test? I said it was the "adaptive pitch test."
Andy R
2.7 without headphones and TV blaring... Seems to be in the norm ...
DAS44
I got it down to 0.18xx at a point, and my average for a few (4) times was around the 0.75-.9 mark (for the full test). Funnily, I progressively got worse though. The tone took a toll on my ears, wonder if that's it, or perhaps I'm just straining too hard.
duane v
This is about it .75.... I did better a couple of times, but this is where I'm at

Good, I'm not the only one.. I was also in the 3rd percent. I thought I was doing pretty good.
Malchik
Pitch: 0.75Hz Rhythm: 80 Tone Deaf: 77.8 Visual: 50 I'm not entirely sure about the visual quiz.
stein
Good, I'm not the only one.. I was also in the 3rd percent. I thought I was doing pretty good. I think each's ability to determine pitch is different on a given day. I know I have some days where I actually have trouble tuning a guitar. stein
I nearly failed the rhythm test. Granted, it isn't a rhythm test like I think most musicians would think of rhythm, like different timings and such. But, a GOOD test of memory and comprehension. And, turns out that is exactly what I have been having issues with, so there must be something to it.
FirstMeasure
1.3hz on my second try. My first try I didn't know there was a replay button and I never did see my end score.

Jeff-7
Pitch: 0.75Hz Rhythm: 80 Tone Deaf: 77.8 Visual: 50 I'm not entirely sure about the visual quiz. The visual quiz is actually pretty easy if you visualize the instrument playing the higher pitch as red, the lower as black (when that difference pops up). If the notes get progressively higher then the arrow or second set of boxes will be in a higher plane, vice versa if it gets lower. If the notes concentrically become played faster a smaller version of the box or triangle appears within a larger one. Best way I can explain it, it just seems like it's about connecting the piece with visual shapes.
