ckledzepplin
I was thinking of replacing the BB pro in the bridge position of my les paul with a dimarzio PAF. online i read they both have alnico V magnets so would they be pretty much the same or different, because right now the BB pro is a little too shrill, i also want a double cream and i don't want to have to spend $200 on handmade pickups just to get that look. so if anyone has knowledge about the Dimarzio PAF's let me know. :oilpit:
Never heard a dimarzio PAF, but I'm not a big fan of BB pros, sounds like a decent idea. HOWEVER If your gonna replace one, I'd just do both, unless your a totaly Page wannabe. wait....did he have a cream or a black bridge pup?

djroge1
I have a DiMarzio Virtual Vintage and a Virtual Hot Paf sitting in their cases waiting for a guitar... I wish I had the info you seek.
:oilpit:
dimarzio makes some sweet stuff' date=' but they dont clean up well IIMO[/quote'] Like I said I've never tried any dimarzio anything but a pickup should be judged first and foremost on it's clean tone. Distortion will come in time, that's why EMGs suck so hard.
