A song on my new J45

At 51 years old I'm still (and will always be) a big Beatles fan. Just got a J 45 and am usually an electric player but have been playing this phenomenal guitar non stop for days. I played an A7 and thought that's it! I had 2 glasses of chardonnay then laid this down including some bass. The singing was strained but hell, I had fun.

Verse chords - Am7 Dm G7 C Am D9 G7, Chrous - C F.

That's what I'm talkin' about!! I totally enjoyed that--great sound. Love your voice, and don't even get me started on the tone of that J45 (which I now, officially, covet).

Makes a person feel all cozy inside, knowing there're people like you (and the rest of us) out there, making music just because ya gotta.

Sweet; thanks for sharing that tonight![thumbup]

Thanks so much. The J 45 is really an acoustic tone machine like I've never played.

One part was particularly hard to hit, even with falsetto - sleep pretty darling. For those notes I used a pitch correction software algorithm that usually makes voice sound like Cher was recording it. [scared]

I'm having a blast messing around with all of this stuff.

Excellent work! Great voice!

Abbey Road is a sublime experience for me. The entire album takes me right back to the Christmas of 1969 (it was released in October '69). Over the Christmas and New Years of 1969/70 I listened to that album over and over again. Sometimes I'd lay on the floor in the living room with my head exactly in the middle of the "hifi" so I'd get the stereo image. This was before I owned any headphones. It had to be the heaviest iPod in history 'cause that hifi weight at least 200lbs (4'x3'x1.5').

Now I'll have to put on the headphones and play the whole album in sequence. [biggrin]

Thanks Pfox and Great story Drathbun! It's so true, I received it as a present for my sister's wedding in 69 and it is my all time favorite album. It's funny that you brought that up because while I have completely embraced digital technology, I have gone to great pains to keep the B side as it has always been for me - the mini songs played in succession without that cutoff that you get between Polythene Pam and She came in Through the Bathroom Window on the iPod.

Next cover I'l do I think is You Never Give Me Your Money.

Oh Abbey Road – such an album. So gigantic they even thought of calling it Everest (and fortunately didn't).

I bought it as a kid when it came out and took it in like a cat drinks cream-milk. Listened again and again on my parents stereo – wouldn't put an LP on my own little gramophone.

Remember I found it very 'grown up'.

Did you old fans know the missing note of Her Majesty can be heard in the beginning of Polythene Pam.

Hey T man you cover the vibe of GS well - have fun with the 45.

Beatles fans will always be welcome here! Good job on the tune! Have you tackled Oh Darling yet? What a powerful voice Macca had in those days!

Ha! Paul's voice was (is) so amazing. I just listened to this one again and my wife said from the other room: "sounds like you're straining too much". [biggrin] Oh Darling would be something I would love to hear someone tackle. I'll be cheering them on!

I'm with Anne.... THAT's What I'm Talkin' About!!!

Great song..... Great Guitar, Great Playin'.....and a very nice voice!

Do more!

Thanks Rob - you are very kind. :^o actually I was expecting #-o

Since you're in Santa Barbara, you should SERIOUSLY consider showing up at Fred's for the SANJAMS....probably in late June....... I'd be honored to back you up!

I have to learn about that one [thumbup] sounds like fun. I'm up in the East Bay frequently - let's practice - I'd love to do something like that! But wait a minute, I'd be honored to back you up, I've seen the pictures with Van!

Okay then! I'll take that challenge, T! Give me a couple weeks to put it together............

If you want to do a collaboration, I'd love to play bass and/or any backing guitar part. All I'd need is a wav or aiff file.

Well I'm pretty jazzed about learning the tune but I don't know much about creating a file type you can fiddle with after the fact. Maybe I can do it with Garageband on the Mac......never fiddled with the program though. I'll see what is possible here..........
