HeavyPsych
Hi everyone! I own a Worn/Faded SG Special, a Les Paul Trad Pro and two Strats (US and Mexican made respectively). I really like the finishes the new SG Std Ltd models come in and I'm thinking about getting a second SG because I love pretty much everything about SGs. I'm curious - is there anyone out there who recently bought a Ltd and would care to share their thoughts on it? Does the baked maple board change the character of the guitar? Any thoughts on the QC? The model has just been made available over here and I'm trying hard not to run down to the local dealer and try one out. I could easily go for any of the three finishes available as far as looks are concerned. It's kinda hard to choose actually. The VS finish seems to be the biggest seller and it really has its perks to be able to see how the wood has been matched. Plus, it's really beautiful. But on the other hand the cream version is really cool and not very common, it really makes the SG shape pop out. The AC finish looks very Angus Young to me. My apologies if these questions have been answered before. Play from your cufking heart...
DiamondJig
You can search on baked maple and find that it is liked very much, it's feels like ebony and sounds like maple adds a little brightness to the sound, a very stable wood. I have a baked maple melody maker SG and like the baked maple. I see nothing bad about those LTD SG's

alexri
I really really like the natural burst, it just seems to suit the workhorse nature of the SG the best, in my opinion.
mKwatra427
Hey, Hey! Doesn't the Gibson SG Standard Limited have a rosewood fingerboard? What's all this about the baked maple? Isn't this guitar the same as the Standard with some cool new finishes? My world is turning upside-down here!
