I'm gonna need some I.D.

I need some help from you people. I found a couple pictures online of a Les Paul Classic and I need to know more about it so I can hunt one down. It was a dark tobacco sunburst and had the old-school Gibson logo like is on the mandolins and banjos:

What exactly is it? When were they made? Did they come in multiple finishes?

Thanks in advance.

It's more or less a Classic 60's with an antique burst, not really desirable.

Really?

This one is easily in the top 5 best sounding and playing Les Pauls I've ever tried in 35+ years as a player.

Just as a matter of interest, Malchik, I'm very curious to know in what regard(s) you find a '1960 Classic' in Vintage Sunburst "not really desirable"?

:-k

According to the info posted by R9 the instrument the OP is talking about has a mahogany cap and '57 Classic / '57 Classic+ p-ups so it's not quite the same as a regular '1960 Classic' anyhow.

I don't think he was putting down the LP Classic, just saying that it's not more desirable than any other of the numerous models of LPs even though it's a limited edition.

And it is basically the same, but with a few tweaks like the mahogany top, pickups, and logo.
