Ashleyb
Hi I have just signed up to the forum after being a voyeur for some time. I just bought an elitist casino 1965 and can't get over the amazing sound and build quality of this model I have had a lot of guitars over years and spent thousands on guitars but this one by far is the best! The neck is so fast and smooth it's so easy to play. The sound is straight away that beatles tone or with a bit of OD classic Weller I have been selling a few of my guitars and only gave £100 for it with a trade in which I thought was a great deal and bit there hand off! I traded a Fender Coronado which I liked for a while and never picked up again! I have just sold an amp Vox Ac30 cc2x so I am only playing through a Fender Valve Champ or a Vox tonelab pedal with headphones in but the sound of it is great can't wait to pick up either a Deluxe Reverb or a Toneking Imperial if I can get my hands on a cheap one second hand

guitar dog
Welcome Ashleyb. Congrats on the Casino! Mine sounds great through the Deluxe Reverb, I think you will like that combination.
Ashleyb
Yeah I think I will end up with a deluxe reverb but I'd really would like the Imperial it's much more like the black face original deluxe reverb! I have set them up side by side with my Rick 330 (2001) and a Gibson es335 (Kalamazoo made 1981) and the quality is second to none better than the new 335's IMO which are slap dash It was nicer than the rick and IMO had a better neck than the 335 nicer to play

I own one and as much as I like them, I think that they ask too much for them. I got mine when they were more affordable. I've never had the pleasure of playing an Elitist Casino, but from what everyone says, they are the Mutts nuts. Enjoy yours. And for God's sake, post some pictures! Aster1
HNGD & Congrats on the Casino. I love both my Casino Elitist & Ric 330FG. Wouldn't want to be w/o either as to me they are SO different and that's just fine. Every time I pick one to play and decide that I like it the best, until I pick up the other one and then I flip-flop. Why decided? Aster
SpruceTop
Congrats... I had an '03 or '04 Elitist Casino before. Great build quality and nice acoustic and amplified tones. I had D'Addario Chromes 11-50 on it and they were perfect for it. I did exchange the wound G for a 0.18. My only complaint was that is squealed (microphonic) like a pig after certain overdrive levels. I never figured out how to fix it. Could it have been the metal pickup covers vibrating? Non-wax potted pickups? It's just the way stock Casino's are?
bonzoboy
Hi Ashley and welcome to the forum,I have a 1965 John Lennon Casino and it is my favourite and best playing guitar out of the 30 that I own.I use my Casino through my Fender Blues Jr. or my 1969 Fender Bassman with a 1968 2-15" cabinet or through my Vox AD120VTH set on AC30 Top Boost-real sparkle and chime for sure.In my experience even the MIC Casinos are way ahead of other guitars in their price range,in every way,in the past few years QC has improved in leaps and bounds at the Chinese factories.
