UKsteve
In around 1972 I acquired a Gibson shop banner from a guitar shop that was closing down. I can only guess that it had been in the shop a few years, so, what? late 60s up to 71 say? It is pale orangey/pinky colour and of a silk type material. From memory it is about 70cm wide by about 55cm deep. It hangs on a wooden rod with pointed finials at each end and has a fancy 'dressing gown' style gold rope to hang it from that is fixed at each end of the rod. Obviously I need to find it out and put a photo on here. But I just wondered in advance of that, has anyone seen one like this or can add any info? Are they collectable? j45nick
Anything that says "Gibson" on it is collectible to some people on this forum. I personally prefer the "Gibson" items made out of wood that have steel strings on them, and make pleasant noise when you brush your hand across them... Seriously, I'm sure someone would want it, but I doubt that it has significant value except to the hard-core fan. And there are a few of those here. Jinder
That is SUPER COOL!! If that were mine I'd hang it on the wall of my recording room. Possibly the coolest thing ever, and bound to be worth a bit...I've no idea how much. Lovely, lovely thing though.
E-minor7
Oh Hello - Such a nice banner ! Could be cool in the rehearsing room or over the cellar bar (if one only had a facility like that). Maybe it has sun-faded a bit over the years, but to me that just add a vintage touch. You should hold on to this flag – and keep it up for X-mas. The fringes are awesome -
UKsteve
Thanks guys. Well, I've been looking at it for about 40 years, so it no longer holds the same excitement for me unfortunately! I will sell it the internent in due course.

E-minor7
Time for a hot infight Jinder, , , no no no just take it easy, I'll let you snap the trophy. But let me ask : What does the mid-60's symbol say. Is it a well defined note hitting the eardrum, , , or something I simply can't decode. . . . The stripes aren't strings - there's 7 of them - Oooooo now I see - the first with the white ball is a finger - the rest are strings, , , , , what do I know. . . . . Actually, this is referred to as the "boob" logo (late '60s). Can't imagine why.......
