Danner
I realize these posts are a bit tiresome, but, how does this deal look to you? Craigs List Hummingbird Counter-offer amount? Thanks...

EuroAussie
I would say this is a bit high, should be around $1800 tops.
Jerry K
Here's how I look at it. Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for this is $3784. Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) is $2949. I'm getting these off Musician's friend but if you look around you'll see they are all the same. Now, a really good bargain on most of the big brands is 40% off the MSRP. Do the math. Now that was for a new guitar. Used is different. Some say 50% off MSRP is a good starting point for used. Obviously you need to evaluate the condition of any used guitar and adjust. Other factors like availability of this model, popularity, going price on ebay, etc will affect the number.
Danner
Thank you all. I will give the guy a call and see about looking at it and making an offer. Frankly, if the guitar is as nice as the ad states, I'd be delighted to own it for $1800.
fortyearspickn
Danner, So, did the deal go down? Price seemed reasonable to me. I bought a 3 month old H'bird TV from GC over the internet several months ago. Got a good price because the dude that buys new ones to try out and returns most - kept the case. If this one sounds as good as it looks - it will be worth it. No reason not to try to get your CL seller to come down 5% assuming he listed it a bit high to start. G'luck! I sent an e-mail the day before Christmas, I am waiting on a response. Hope to hear today, and maybe go check it out one evening this week. jdd707
Danner, these posts are not tiresome at all .... helps keep us up on current values. Seems a bit high for a used Bird, sice you are giving up the warranty on any used Gibson you buy ... 1800 seems right.
