MrNylon
I almost got away from Gibson Basses until I found my Worn, or Faded SG Std. Bass. I had the Heritage Cherry SG Std. with neck problems. I'm glad I found this one. It plays, and sounds great! D'Addario ETB92S Nylon Tapewound strings are on order for it. Searcy
While they look cool I have never liked the feel and the sound of the SG basses. Too many years with my P Bass I guess. The only Gibson bass I have ever liked is the Ripper. I have one in the shop that needs a full rebuild.
FirstMeasure
Very nice with the satin finish
MrNylon
I like the grain going through this one too. Sound compared to the Fender I had was very close. My amp has enough settings to make them equal in sound, or close enough.
EVOL!
Sweet bass. I am jealous. My dream bass is one of the SG models. Love the warmth of flat or round wound type strings on them.

FirstMeasure
I played a SG Styled bass years ago; although have always been a fan of the Fender styled basses. Speaking of Gibson basses, I wonder if this thing weighes more than a normal bass like a LP weighs more than a normal guitar? Â This is my Brothers Limited Edition Epi Les Paul 5 String. It's weighs about as much as you'd expect. Feels like two Les Pauls but sounds like a Piano! Great Bass.

FirstMeasure
It's hard to find strings that are long enough for it. It's like playing a aircraft carrier, but it sure sounds good!
MrNylon
D'Addario Strings usually have some good varieties to fit a wide selection of basses. What is the length you have on that Limited Edition Epi Les Paul 5 String?
pfox14
I love that 5-string LP bass. Very cool. How much was it if you don't mind me asking?
