Bender 4 Life
the look on my sons face his 14th Christmas, when he pulled open our barn door to discover a brand new Suzuki GS125 street-bike, instead of the mo-ped we'd convinced him he was getting. That morning (in his eyes) I stood alongside the Gods of the universe.
wineredrich
My lefty 1980 wine red Les Paul Custom. My dad had to drive thru a snowstorm to pick it up at the UPS depot because it wasn't going to make it to the house for regular delivery before Christmas. I still have it. In fact, I'll have to be buried with it 'cause I'll never sell it....especially since dad passed away 6 years ago. Wish I had the $$$ to send it to Gibson Repair and Restoration because I've been playing it hard and putting it up wet for 32 years now!!! Maybe someday. Jon S.
Christmas in 6th grade. I got my first electric - A Japanese Strat that weighed as much as(if not more) than any Les Paul i've ever played. And it had a Floyd Rose. Loved the guitar, but couldn't stand the FR. charlie brown
Well, the "best" musical Christmas gift, I ever got, was in 1965. I woke up, my Mom and I exchanged gifts, and when that was over, she smiled at me, and said: "There's one more gift, I have for you, but it's out in the car. Can you go get it, as it's too big, for me to carry?!" Obviously, I agreed...all the while wondering what the "Heck," it could be. She told me, it was in the trunk ("boot") of the car. When I opened the trunk, I saw exactly why she couldn't have lifted it out, and brought it in, the night before. It was a brand new (1964) Fender Twin Reverb (Blackface)...which she had been making payments on, all the previous year (unknown to me, of course)! (She was working 2 jobs, and going to College at night, at that time.) I was both speechless, and had tears rolling down my face, at the same time. She (absolutely) spoiled me rotten, but with such love, no one could fault her, for it. I only wish now, I still had it! But, it was traded in, 3 years later, on a Vox Super Beatle Amp. (Wish I still had that, as well!..LOL) CB
