in my 34 yrs on earth i've never owned a telecaster, i don't dislike them but they just don't appeal to me as much as a strat or LP or ibanez shredder...i'm not a milionaire so my hard earned money would be spent on the mentioned models rather than a tele.

maybe i should buy a mim tele for starters... :-k

Beautiful strat, gorgeous in fact. That pickup configuration is really a hybrid and not a Strat in the truest sense of the word though so you haven't been completely untrue nor have you completely broken on through to the other side. [biggrin]

Well...I, for one, like "hybrids!" I'm actully toying with the idea, of

getting a Fender "Blacktop" Tele (Silver or Candy Apple Red), and dropping

in the Humbuckers, out of my 2000 LP Classic, which I recently replaced,

with Classic '57/'57+! Might be fun to see what those hot Ceramic's would

do, in that Tele?!\:D/

Would you replace the bridge pup, too? A hot ceramic neck pickup with a hot Tele bridge might be KILLER!

If you guys gained a little weight you could be TeleTubbies.

I have a tele that I hate. First, it's got that skinny little neck. Second..... it's BLUE?!?! :-(

Yeah well the weight has ALREADY been gained, Searcy, so you can go park that one out behind the shed and leave the keys under the floor mat!!

The absolute bare minimum of electric guitars that a gigging musician should own is 5 : 1.Les Paul 2.SG 3.Fender Strat 4.Fender Tele 5.P-90 equipped guitar such as a Casino or ES330.An electric acoustic is also a nice addition too.

I disagree. Owning both a Les Paul and an SG is nice, but not necessary.

There's nothing a LP can do that an SG can't convincingly fake, and vice versa.
