onewilyfool Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Please post your Pics/reviews of your 2011 Gibson purchases....what a great year!!!! Here is my SOLE Gibson purchase this year....1947 Gibson L-7, I must say, in great shape and NOT just a jazz guitar...and all a-rounder......Pretty heavy, I only play it sitting...lol.....Shown side-by-side with my '23 L-2...another funky little guitar!
JuanCarlosVejar Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I got a 60's TV hbird special . for a special Gig next year(2012) . I havn't played it . but Jeremy Fuller said it is a fantastic sounding guitar . The Top was done by Ren . So I hope to be blown away when I play it next year. and I also had a special SJ 200 made for my best friend. Jeremy said this one sounded awesome too . I'll let you guys know when I play them . it's going to be our first gig as a duo :) . Ron Wood Special + Cherryburst Hbird ;D
Tman Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 J45 custom Rosewood. I figured I've posted it more than allowed. Very happy camper.
DanvillRob Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 You've all seen it: Shown with the Doves In Flight. (I just realized that I don't have a decent pic of JUST the 'Bird!)
j45nick Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 There seem to be several new 'Birds this year with the pickguards on the wrong side and the saddle slanted the wrong way. Must be that lousy Gibson QC. No "brand new" Gibsons for me this year, but one that's "new" to me: my 1947 L-7, the dusky sister to wily's "new" Blondie from the same year. 1947 was a pretty good year from my perspective. I was born in January, and my L-7 just a few months later.
BigKahune Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 . No Gibson Acoustic purchase this year, but I did buy a Gibson ES-359 in June - Approximately the same size as an LP, but semi-hollow and double cut. . B)
EuroAussie Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Used J-150 and new SJ for me, think thats definitely enough for a one year ..
zombywoof Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 A 1946-47 LG-2. And just last week I was able to snag an original brown case for it with the Gibson badge in tact.
music4love Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Here is my honey. She hums so gently and sings so sweet!
j45nick Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 1966 J-45. It's got soul! Nice shape! What's the width at the nut on that one, out of curiosity.
ParlourMan Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I got this: Before that, I got this: And this one was ordered last December, but arrived early January Busy year, but it'll be a quite one this time around.
BluesKing777 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 3 Used Gibsons - 1964 B25-12N 12 string - 1952 LG1 - 1958 LG0
onewilyfool Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 Wel....looks like the J-45's are "winning" at this point
JuanCarlosVejar Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I LaLaLaLLove this guitar! Thanks Krassi . I love your J 200 custom elite too . It sounds awesome JC
blindboygrunt Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 seemed like it was a hummingbird year ?? obviously not looks like its just a case that hummingbird owners bum and blow a lot about their guitars huh? as if their flowery pickguards and honey sunbursts werent bling enough ! us j45 owners feel no need to say anything . we just hide our light under a bushel :-P ( i do want a hummingbird though )
Teer Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 60th anniversary J-185 for me, ya already seen the pics. Happy New Year all!
