Gibson ES-335 Satin Black or Gibson Les Paul Studio Silverburst

Hey guys, I'm at a crossroads when it comes to decided what should be ny newest guitar purchase. I've narrowed it down to the 2 models listed in the title. I love the Studio because of the Silverburst finish, the Grover tuners, the pups, versatility, etc. The ES-335 on the other hand has that very unique, aggressive sound that I'm craving with distortion. The thing that turned me on to the ES is actually the fact that Chris Cornell is using them while playing for Soundgarden on tour. He raved about them in a Guitar World article and I've been to multiple shows where I've heard the sound of it...very, very impressive. Another plus for the ES is that because it's a semi-hollow body I can get feedback more easily than I would with a solid body, which I am looking for as well. I guess when I'm hoping to get from this topic post is just some insight as to what the better choice would be for me. The versatility of the Les Paul Studio, or the unique-ness of the ES-335. I also have an American Strat so I'm also looking for this guitar to be a compliment to that bad boy. Any and all help is much appreciated!

Music I play: Rock, Grunge Rock, Alternative

Existing Gear: Fender American Strat

Hi G-L...welcome to the forums...

There are many 335 enthusiasts lurking nearby who will no doubt pitch in with their 0.02...

My own opinion is to realise the 'versatility' of the 335...suitable for many genres of music, including hi-gain blues and rock...

A classic beauty in it's many forms

And those new slightly smaller takes on the semi theme...ES 339, CS336, Midtown Custom etc...very well received

I have recently purchased an ES 335-S, which is a solid 335 with Burstbuckers...so a bit of Les Paul DNA mixed in...

Enjoy the chase !!
